Rodney was a co-educational boarding and day school catering for pupils aged 8 to 18 of whom about half are boarders. The Principal was a member of the Independent Schools' Association (ISA) and the school was fully accredited by the Independent Schools' Council (ISC).
The school, which was founded in 1944, offers a full academic and social life for its pupils in extensive grounds which includes games pitches, tennis courts, county standard sports hall, lawns, gardens and woodland.
Rodney provided a sound academic and cultural education. It was small enough to have a flexible curriculum so that boys and girls may develop their individual abilities and interests and be prepared as fully as possible for their future responsibilities.
An option to join the Performing Arts course was available to boys and girls who have a strong interest in this direction.
